The boy is from a standard four class in a Westport school who used Disney’s cartoons as a central theme for oral and written work. As a result their reading, writing, spelling, and oral work improved greatly. The copies that they made of the Disney cartoon characters was chosen for exhibition at the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition, held at Rongotai, Wellington in 1939/1940.
